So, since this pan doesn’t feature any unique shapes or gimmicks, you might be curious what it is that actually qualifies the Cooks Standard Omelet Pan as being good for omelettes. Well, there are a few different things about the Cooks Standard that make it a good option that we want to highlight.
The first thing that we want to draw your attention is the even heating that you get from this pan. Omelettes are extremely prone to burning if they are cooked in a pan that doesn’t heat evenly. The solid anodized aluminum bottom ensures that heat is distributed evenly and that every dish is cooked evenly. Some are just shaped like regular omelette pans, while others are shaped like the Norpro. Since this is a common type of omelette pan that you will see online, we wanted to make sure that we reviewed at least one or two of these types of pans.
For those unfamiliar with two-sided pans, you can probably guess how they work just based on how they look, but let’s go into a bit more detail. Unlike other types of “omelette” pans, two-sided pans are really only intended for omelettes (or other similar eggs dishes).
What you do is cook one side of the omelette in one part of the pan and the other part of the omelette in the other side. You just then flip the pan closed and the top of the omelette slips onto the bottom part.
It is a novelty item to be sure, but if you are the type who is constantly cooking omelettes or frittatas and you really want to make sure that you get them correct every single time, then something like the Norpro Nonstick Omelet Pan can be a real help.
Of course, in order to work properly, the Norpro has to be designed with nonstick interiors to ensure that the egg always slips out. So, you can rest easy knowing that each side of this pan has a really well-made, reliably nonstick interior.
While we do think that the unique design of the Norpro certainly helps when it comes to making egg dishes like omelettes and frittatas, it does have a downside, and it is the same downside that impacts all pans of this type.

The next pan that we want to do a review of on this article is going to be a real treat because as you are going to see in our review, the Calphalon is one of the best quality omelette pans out there, and its sheer quality really makes it stand out on this list. If we had to pick a single option to label as the “best omelette pan,” we would, without a doubt, pick this one.
There are a lot of really good things to like about the Calphalon, but why don’t we start with the sheer construction quality of this pan. There are no two ways about it, this is an extremely well-made, and solid pan. It is a bit heavier than your average omelette pan, which is a downside, but it is an otherwise very well-crafted and durable piece of cookware.
Now, those of you who are familiar with this particular brand of cookware will know that their pans tend to both have very good nonstick properties and heat evenly. Both of these things are once again true with the Calphalon Contemporary. It always heats perfectly and the food slides right off of it.

Continuing on with our trend of reviewing 1sts, let’s take a look at the first Japanese style omelette pan that we are reviewing on our best omelette pan list. While most people wouldn’t typically associate Japan with omelettes, the reality is that they actually make their own version of omelettes and they are very popular both in Japan and abroad.
The major difference is that Japanese omelettes tend to be square, as opposed to round. As such, Japanese cooks sued their own specialized version of omelette pans. We figured that we would include one such example of this on our review list because they are becoming more popular in the West.
While there are quite a few Japanese style pans out there, the one that we think is most deserving of being on this list is the ESLITE LIFE Tamagoyaki Pan.
The first thing that we should talk about in this review is what the advantage of this pan’s unique shape is, since that is obviously very important. The square shape of the pan is such a big deal because it allows you to more easily shape your omelette and to slide it out.
While it can take a bit to get used to, once you are familiar with cooking in a square pan, we are sure that most of you will come to like it. This is helped out by the fact that the ESLITE LIFE Tamagoyaki Pan has a really good, nonstick interior that makes cooking a perfect (if a bit oddly shaped) omelette even easier.
As with all specialty pans such as this, the thing that makes it special (such as the unique shape) can be a bit of a problem since it takes a while to get used to. You saw this with the Norpro that we reviewed earlier, and it applies to the ESLITE as well. The square shape has a lot of advantages, most of which we mentioned in the review, but if this is your first exposure to a Japanese style omelette pan, then it is going to take quite a bit to get used to, which is something that we would warn people about before they buy this.

Carote Granite Omelet Pan
For the last review on our best omelette pan list, we are going to be doing a review of another relatively normal pan in the form of the Carote Granite Omelet Pan. To kick off the review list, we took a look at a very normal pan, and so we felt that there was no better way to end the review list then by doing the same.
As you can probably see for yourself, the Carote is shaped like a fairly normal piece of cookware, which will probably lead to the question of why this is actually appearing in the first place. Well, there are a few things to note.
First off, the Carote heats very evenly, which as we mentioned earlier on in the article is extremely important when it comes to finding a good omelette pan.
Aside from the wooden handle (which we will discuss shortly), by far the most unique aspect of this pan is its granite coating. This coating does a few good things. First off, it is scratch resistant, so it helps to make the pan more durable. Secondly, the granite coating is naturally nonstick, so it makes the pan easier to cook with. Finally, granite washes easily, so cleaning the pan is less of a hassle. The granite coating is really fantastic and we can’t stress enough that this coating is a big part of the reason why the Carote is appearing on our review list.
We do have one, super small complaint with the Carote, which is that the pan could afford to be a bit better when it comes to the wooden handle that is attached to the pan. On the one hand, the wooden handle doesn’t heat up like metal does, which is nice. On the other hand, the wooden handle isn’t quite as well-made as we would hope, and it wears out pretty quickly after it gets washed.
